Rhode Island's Early Intervention Program supports infants and toddlers under three with a developmental disability or delay. Parents can self-refer without a doctor's referral or diagnosis, or a hospital, paediatrician, childcare provider or other concerned adult can start a referral; every referred child then gets a developmental evaluation, at no cost to the family.
