The Autism Assessment Clinic, based at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, evaluates children and adolescents up to 18, while its Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics service sees children up to age eight. A team including a child psychiatrist, paediatrician, psychologist, social worker and speech-language pathologist conducts each evaluation, which is diagnosis only, not ongoing care.

Vermont's Children's Integrated Services provides early intervention, family support and prevention services for children from before birth to age six, through eleven regional teams that also work with an autism consultation group on pre-diagnosis support and coaching. The birth-to-three programme is free and covers a measurable developmental delay as well as a condition known to lead to one.
