What they say about themselves

Taken from the provider's own website. We have not verified the claims — the parent reviews below are the other half of the picture.

  • All developmental and autism evaluations currently take place at the University of Vermont Medical Center, 1 South Prospect Street, Burlington.
  • The Vermont Center for Children, Youth and Families Autism Assessment Clinic, housed within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, evaluates children and adolescents up to age 18, while Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics serves children up to age eight.
  • A multispecialty team — a child psychiatrist, developmental-behavioural paediatrician, child psychologist, social worker and speech-language pathologist — conducts each comprehensive evaluation.
  • The Autism Assessment Clinic is diagnosis-only and cannot provide ongoing care; the patient must have Vermont Medicaid as their primary insurance.
  • Its own pediatrician must submit a referral before a family can schedule with the programme; there is a waitlist, and families are asked for documentation such as IEPs, Early Intervention records and past evaluation reports.
  • Appointments can be arranged by calling 802-847-4563.
